Strategy Manager

The Moleskine Foundation is a non-profit organization that pursues a mission of ‘Creativity for Social Change’. Its purpose is to inspire, encourage and connect young people to transform themselves and their communities through creativity. We provide unconventional education tools and cultural experiences to foster critical thinking, creative doing, life-long learning and a change making attitude. Our central belief is that creativity is key to producing positive change in society, reducing inequalities and driving our collective future.


This position will enable the successful candidate to work at the intersection of three exciting areas – education, creativity, and social change. The MSKF is creating the creativity for social change platform: a unique community of cultural and creative organizations focusing on the betterment of society.


This role is a supporting and strategic execution function to the CEO, where a combination of core responsibilities and special projects will unlock the impact of our work. 

The ideal candidate should have strategy/management consulting experience, be deeply passionate about all aspects of culture, the arts, and social change. This will be a demanding role, with a unique opportunity to learn about unconventional education methodologies, social impact, community, and sector building.

The chosen candidate will join the team as soon as possible on a 1-year contract, with an opportunity to extend. 


Remote/Location? 

While this is not designed as a remote role, extended periods of remote work will be considered for the right candidate. The role and team are based in Milan, Italy.

JOB DETAILS

Strategy Support and Planning 

  • You will be responsible for producing regular updates to strategic documents that easily explain to various stakeholders’ program or project level tactics and direction. 
  • You will be responsible for the team calendar, and plan far in advance with the Directors to ensure a rhythm of meetings, workshops and team-building activities keep the entire team in sync, aligned and motivated. 
  • You will own the team’s macro project management schedule, working with the CEO and team leads to ensure project and task scoping is clear and correctly prioritized in line with strategic goals and budget. 
  • You will build trackers and reporting tools to check progress against team/program KPIs. 

Project Management & strategy implementation 

  • You will be responsible for the creativity for social change platform development and management, the MSKF’s stakeholders knowledge sharing and community development initiative.       
  • Special projects of both short and medium term will be thrown at you. These could be events, desk/market-research, proposal writing, modelling. 

Systems/Leveraging Tech 

  • You will always be exploring how our team can get the best out of technology tools for improved productivity. Slack, CRM, community management tools etc.
  • You will support the management of key technology service providers, like web developers, any other technology partners, to facilitate Creativity for social change platform management and development

Critical Relationship Support 

  • You will support the CEO to map out MSKF critical stakeholders according to priorities. 
  • You will support the CEO with reporting needs to MSKF Board and co-founders, funders and advisors. 

Other Responsibilities 

  • Participating in various “all hands-on deck” activities on the MSKF Program calendar as they arise, such as event logistics, application reading, phone interviews, due diligence visits, coaching conferences and workshop attendance. 
  • Flexibility required. The environment is fast-paced, and the ability to switch quickly to new projects and ideas may be necessary. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Profile of Ideal Candidate  

  • High performer: We’re looking for a clear high performer, with a strong growth track from consulting, finance, business or entrepreneurship support. 
  • Relationship building: Needs to be able to interact with different people from different cultures with ease and build rapport with people across different levels.  
  • Excellent written communication skills: From external email engagement to PowerPoint presentations. 
  • Project and team management: Able to lead the conceptualization and implementation of projects in a structured and efficient manner, with potential for cross-functional project team management in time.  
  • Financial Modelling: Budgets, forecasts, valuations. You’re an Excel power user. 
  • Systems & technology: A quick learner and someone who loves to use and get the most from software and systems will be particularly successful in this team. 
  • Research & data analysis: able to conduct primary and secondary research, and mine for insights that are relevant to the MSKF. 
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, economics, business, non-profit management, entrepreneurship etc.  

Languages requirements: Fluent English and Italian required, French desirable
